Jerry Mintz

Born in Canada, in 1948. Made Aliya (emmigrated to Israel) in 1969. Volunteered the Nachal Mutznach. Served in the army as a paratrooper.

Jerry, B.A., graduated in History and Environmental Studies.

Jerry has been in business and in other fields such as teaching English to the Bedwins in Arad, Secretary to Hapoel Arad, a Judo instructor, and in charge of national Judo and Fencing at the Hapoel Center in Tel Aviv.

Since the early 1980’s, he has been very active in real estate. In 1984 Jerry moved with his family to the United States. He continued with his real estate there, and accumulated his initial capital following the financial boom in Miami Beach, Florida.

In 1993 Jerry returned to Israel, but carried on with his businesses in the U.S. From that time on, until 2006, he developed urban centers in Florida. His best project was the redevelopment of downtown Hollywood, Florida.

Jerry had been overweight for many years (95 kgs.), and suffered from high cholesterol, gout, hypertension and high blood sugar. During those years he frequented some centers in the U.S., which offered raw food and worked according to the Ann Wigmore philosophy.

Due to his perseverance following this diet, he lost close to 30 kgs. and got rid of all his medications.

After realizing the effectiveness of this method, he decided to set up such a center in Israel, together with his wife Edna.

At the beginning of 2006, Jerry liquidated his businesses overseas and opened the Mitzpe Alummot Health Retreat – first of its kind in Israel. It is located in Kibbutz Alummot, overlooking the Sea of Galilee. This is a dream come true for Jerry and Edna.

Jerry serves as the General Manager of the Center.
