    Basic Brown Rice

    Basic Brown Rice
    (4-5 servings)

    1 onion, chopped
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1.3/4 cups brown rice, soaked overnight
    1 carrot, grated
    3.1/2 cups water
    2 tsp. chopped ginger
    1 tsp. garlic, minced
    1 tsp. toasted sesame oil
    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Sort out rice. Wash and strain. Soak overnight. Cook in water until water boils. Add salt. Reduce heat and simmer on low, covered, for 30-40 minutes. When rice is soft, and no liquids are left, it is ready.
    Sauté, onion in oil and water. Add grated carrot. Stir and continue cooking for 2 minutes. Turn heat off. Mix
    Sprinkle ginger, garlic and oils on rice and mix together
