Our philosophy
, by which we work, regards the body, the mind and the spirit as one whole. This method offers a natural way of living, which helps prevent different ailments, while providing the tools to conquer disease. The philosophy of Mitzpe Alummot follows the teachings of Hippocrates and Maimonides – "Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food". According to this philosophy, we teach our guests to take responsibility for their own health.
Our philosophy, believes in eating organic raw food, which is also known as Living Food, as well as drinking wheat grass juice. Both constitute a very important element in the way to natural healing and in maintaining healthy life style. Raw food and wheat grass juice have many therapeutic properties. They are highly nutritional and rich in enzymes, vitamins and minerals. They are rich in chlorophyll and amino acids, which speed up rejuvenation of body cells. They aid in detoxifying the body, encourage weight loss, strengthen the immune system and lower the risk for disease. This philosophy attributes great importance to mental and spiritual cleansing. Our soul is a mirror of our body.

What is a juice fast?
During a juice fast we drink, several times a day, juices made mainly from vegetables and some fruits. These supply the body with great quantities of vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll, which help cleansing the body. During a juice fast, the juices that we drink give us energy and save energy which is usually consumed by the digestive system. Since our body still consumes carbohydrates, the metabolism does not change its course to ketons.
In the health retreat of Mitzpe Alummot we encourage, but do not enforce juice fasting. For those of our guests who juice fast it is important to know: a juice fast does not allow the body to starve. It does not cause nutritional deficiencies, and one can juice fast for relatively longer periods of time. (Our program includes two days of juice fasting or more).
During a juice fast the body detoxifies itself from different toxins. Many guests experience a slight weight loss, and the body experiences withdrawal from substances such as coffee, sugar, saturated fats, etc.
